Hey you, person who does improv and really gets into it! Billy Merritt’s occasionally-updated Tumblr takes improv ideas to the far-reaching places you want to apply improv to, like philosophy and film and writing.
My improv group Crossbow is in a great show on Saturday at 8pm: The Main Event at Second City Hollywood! Come see us make stuff up, plus other groups Freedom Snatch and Bro Squad 5 making stuff up after us. The Facebook event has up-to-the-minute info. It’s our only January show so come Saturday, or wait till these other impossibly far-off shows happen.
Some improv wisdom I’ve gotten to have first-hand from Billy Merritt, excellent UCBT-LA (formerly NY) improv teacher. I think you can extrapolate it out to most creative work.
What? An improv show? Yes! My new team “Crossbow” is performing for the first time in public, at Prismbox this Thursday 1/5. 7:30pm, free show, great improv all around.
