Let’s Celebrate St. Patrick Stewart’s Day!
Forget that musty old snake-hater we usually celebrate on March 17th. It’s time for us to create St. Patrick Stewart’s Day. Here’s the illustrated tale of a man who deserves his own holiday for pioneering work in the worlds of acting, geekdom, and making baldness cool.

Bridgman made that kickass banner and then I did the rest of the GIFs inside. It’s the best Patrick Stewart article you’re ever going to find…

Cool of them to arrange themselves in order, from left to right, of best to worst (YEAH! I SAID IT!).

At this point in my life I feel like any of these guys.

I got to appear on the “Hello Nerds” podcast!  Alley, Aldrin, Adam, and Monika are a great bunch and put up with me wonderfully, I had a blast.  Their podcast is blowing up, and with good reason.  Get it on iTunes or direct from them and hear me finish 5th out of 5 in a test of knowledge!

Amazing letter by Gene Roddenberry, after making the first version of what became the Star Trek pilot. Click through for whole letter if you like TV, writing, Star Trek, or people who try to do things well.
“For the first time I think I see [television] exactly for what it is. It has been and can be very good — and if someone proves to me they want me to try for that level, I gladly will. On the other hand, without that proof, I intend to aim for safe copies and parallels of existing successes — settle for doing it just two or three percent better than the next guy so that job and profits are always there, and I eat dinner every night at 6:00 p.m. with the children and have two days at home out of every seven to play horseshoes and putter in the garden. And do everything possible to move on into another medium.”
